Last year Rids was the overall winner of DreamTeam fort 2020. Wanna see what the first plans of his side look like for this season? He’s sharing it exclusively here for Patreons and with some explanations behind certain picks.

Defenders

Lloyd and Whitfield speak for themselves. Safe, top six defenders barring injury. Alex Witherden – will be monitored closely over the preseason but with Hurn getting older and with the space of the new home ground, this move says top 5 defender if being traded is the kick in the arse I think it will be.

Midfield

Some familiar faces at the top of this line. While Sloane and Heppell are crazy value, both have averaged 100+ before.

No Rowell might surprise some – but too many questions for me. I love the kid, but he is no contact training till post Christmas. We have seen the game’s time and stars do require shoulder reco operation not coming back as they left. There is also the question around how he fits with a Greenwood who found his feet post Rowell injury. Throw in the added attention that will likely to be coming his way.

Bye round is also very awkward. If he doesn’t start well, then you need to back him in for the season. I hope I am wrong with this. I always think if there are too many questions with someone so highly owned, then the best POD might not be owning him. Atkins – crazy price in DT. Will get games at the Suns—a perfect stepping stone.

Rucks

Gawn – less question around him than Grundy for me. Just feel Gawn is likely not to be as affected by teammates as Grundy will be.

Forwards

Sidebottom – bye, round suits me. Plus the guy is durable and proven. I feel the high price tag will mean he is unique.

Caldwell fits in perfectly at f5 for this team. He will get plenty of opportunity at Ess so, for now, will be a watch. If a Buddy or a Ziebell get through the preseason, then he makes way for one of those. Caldwell though options up the strategic options with his bye round. I think a kid like Rozee or Butters breaks out this year.

If Caldwell limps to his bye, then a sideways trade is available then. Too many times people carry on about season long keepers and top 10 etc., and they miss the point that 5 points a game should not be the deciding factor whether someone stays for the season or not.

If Caldwell is averaging 85, that is well and truly good enough to be the f6 for the remainder of the season in a completed team. Just the bye rd worries me as I also have Danger and Phillips. Tom Phillips – everything says this trade will see him go back to his 90 days.
