Jordan Ridley is a Cat. He averaged 102 in SuperCoach in 2024 and he’s coming off a 52. Here’s my 2027 fantasy verdict.

Ridley has played 26 games in three years, so most coaches have forgotten how good he is. At his best he’s one of the better intercept defenders in the AFL, and he’s a beautiful kick. Geelong have paid up to get him, and they’ve got a long record of getting injured players back on the park.

The scoring has never been the question. In 2024 he went at 88 in AFL Fantasy with three tons, and 102 in SuperCoach with six tons from nine games. Between 2020 and 2024 his lowest SuperCoach average was 92. Coming off a 57 in AFL Fantasy and a 52 in SuperCoach, that’s 30 to 40 points per game of upside.

The question is his body. I cover why high ownership changes the risk on a player like him, why he’s a starting squad pick or nothing, and the one thing in the preseason that makes me scrap him. I also look at what it does to Tom Stewart’s scoring, and who picks up the points Ridley leaves behind at Essendon.
