Scott Lycett adds some Power

One week after winning a premiership medal, Scott Lycett has made the move to Port Adelaide.

The Power have targeted him to help take some of the rucking load away from Paddy Ryder. From a fantasy perspective this is bad news for both players. Just 2 seasons ago, especially in SuperCoach Paddy was one of the most relevant rucks, however, whenever a team chooses to split thew ruck focus (especially more than an 80/20 split) it inevitably causes a drastic dint to a players fantasy output.

Take a look at the best performing rucks this year: Gawn, Grundy, Martin (first half of the year), even Sinclair, Witts and Goldstein all played as a predominant solo ruck. All averaged considerably above Lycett where he went at 77 in AFLFantasy and 81 in SuperCoach.

I can see the split of ruck time between Ryder and Lycett being similar to how he worked in tandem with NicNat and later Vardy at West Coast meaning I can see much of a deviation from his average from this year. So for me in salary cap formats it’s a clear pass from me, while in a draft he could be a solid late pick up and handcuffing option.
