Free Agent: Alex Fasolo a Blue

I’ll be honest my first initial reaction about Alex Fasolo joining the blues from a fantasy point of view was a hard and fast ‘pass’, but the more I pondered the more I started to like the potential value of Fas.

In his one game this season he was only able to make one tackle and have 2 possessions before injury affected his match and thus his season, because from this game in round 9 we didn’t see him at AFL level again.  Will he he be priced at basement price due to the low seasonal average from this one game? Unlikely, but even so he should get a nice enough discount from his 2017 average.

His career up until this point has certainly been consistently stalled with injuries, but when he’s on the field he scores OK. Between 2015 -2017 his lowest average came in 2017 in AFLFantasy is 69, while in SuperCoach it’s a 65. the 2 seasons prior he averaged in the low 70’s. They certainly aren’t scores that set the world on fire, but depending on his price point he’s shown that he can put some game together and score relatively well. Again, this is all based on his price point.

At Carlton, he walks straight into the best 22 after the like of Josh Thomas and Jaidyn Stephenson past him by in Collingwood’s midfield. However, as a Blue he’ll add some extra XFactor into a  forward the now along with the addition of Mitch McGovern looks vastly different to that from 2018.

Is he a lock? Certainly not, but is he a pass? By no means, needs to be on the watch-list at this stage.
