From day one in the AFL, Sam Walsh has demonstrated the abilities that make him one of the best midfielders in the game. Thankfully for us fantasy footy coaches, these abilities translate into being one of the best premium players to own. After delivering coaches a top ten season in 2021, Walsh has set his sights on being the top player in the game, and I believe he can do it.
#20 Most Relevant | Clayton Oliver
Every season people lament missing out on owning Clayton Oliver. They promise themselves that the next season will be different, and they’ll start with him. Then, the year happens, and they never get to own him, continuing the cycle. Is this the year you break the cycle and get on Clarry?
#21 Most Relevant | Elijah Hollands
It’s rare that players yet to make an AFL debut make the 50 Most Relevant. But in the case of Elijah Hollands, he looms as one of the most important cash cows in 2022.
#23 Most Relevant | Zach Merrett
Since 2016 Zach Merrett has been a durable and reliable premium across all game formats. After delivering his career-high scores last season, coaches should have some optimism that the 110+ averages should continue for more years to come.
#25 Most Relevant | Elliot Yeo
Elliot Yeo has been a dependable and consistent premium for multiple years. However, an injury derailed his past two seasons. Can he bounce back for us in 2022?
#27 Most Relevant | Jade Gresham
The preseason is the time to look at multiple strategies and possibilities. Jade Gresham might not be for everyone in the preseason, but he could be the perfect squad selection for those needing a stepping stone in the forward line.
#28 Most Relevant | Andrew Brayshaw
The fantasy football pedigree of Andrew Brayshaw is evident as he’s already broken out as a premium midfielder. The question now is can he elevate his abilities to the next tier of uber midfielders?
#29 Most Relevant | Matt Rowell
Over the past two seasons, the year hasn’t gone to plan for Matt Rowell or fantasy footy coaches that owned him. So now, finally, injury-free and enjoying his first full preseason, is it finally time we see the unleashing of the fantasy beast?
#30 Most Relevant | Darcy Parish
The breakout to the elite scoring of Darcy Parish was one of the more surprising developments in 2021. But with a fully fit and firing Essendon midfield, can he back it up and be the dominant premium fantasy footballer coaches are hoping for?
#31 Most Relevant | Marcus Bontempelli
Over the past few seasons, Marcus Bontempelli has been one of the most reliable premiums for us across AFLFantasy/DreamTeam & SuperCoach. Entering into a new season, the legendary Bulldog scoring trend looks near-certain to continue.
