Save the best for last, right? I’ve got the privilege of wrapping up the Coaches Panel December edition of the AFLFantasy team reveals. Enjoy!
After watching some of my fellow panellists drop their AFLFantasy team, MJ started bugging me for a team. I didn’t want to do it, but we’ve done Coaches Panel enough that I know there are only two ways to shut him up. One, just cave and give him what he wants. Or second, and my preferred, remind him of the 2017 AFL Grand Final result. So, whatever, here it is.
On Monday, a poll was sent out on Twitter, and the question was asked, of the three formats which side did you want to see revealed by MJ? You answered AFLFantasy, so here it is. My AFLFantasy Team Reveal for 2023.

Champion data have announced the new positions for SuperCoach, AFLFantasy and DreamTeam for 2023. As usual, we’ve got some significant positional gains and disappearances. MJ’s back to take you through the changes.
In just under a month, Champion Data will hand down the starting positions for SuperCoach, AFLFantasy & DreamTeam. So before the official positions drop, we asked MJ to forecast some possible fantasy football position changes in 2023.
After having my best season across all formats where I (MiniMonk) ended up in 2nd in Real Dream Team, 39th in AFL Fantasy, and 245th in Supercoach, I wanted to share some lessons I’ve learnt through the season. Fantasy can be a cruel game sometimes, but I love playing it with the competitive nature of it and the sense of community that exists arounds it. I hope that some of these points will be useful to you for next season or in any other fantasy sports you may play in the future.
Before rounds 6, 12 and 18, the gang at Champion Data add some new DPP into the game. After round 5 concludes on Monday, the first list of names and positions will be released. Historically, players need a minimum of 35% to be considered for a new allocation in a new position. So, we have in-season DPP additions for the first time in SuperCoach & DreamTeam history. For AFLFantasy coaches, you are an old hand at these. So let’s see which players are locks, close or no chance of getting DPP.
